I do not have a university degree. Will this affect finding a teaching position abroad?

There are many ESL teaching positions around the world that suit almost every type of applicant.  There are schools that accept native English speakers with a high school diploma and The Canadian College of Linguistics TEFL/TESOL Certification.  There are schools that favour commitment to a one or two year teaching contract over academic credentials.  Regardless of your situation, there is certainly an ESL teaching position out there for you.

Some applicants find that it is easier to find jobs abroad when applying in country using a tourist visa.  Schools are sometimes more comfortable hiring teachers who they know are already in their country, and as a result, they are willing to sponsor teachers for a working visa.

In highly competative markets it is often the case that schools will select those applicants who hold Bachelor degrees or higher over those who do not.
